Location: Cnr Charles Street & Great South Road, Papatoetoe, Auckland
An opportunity presented itself to purchase the Papatoetoe Westpac branch, which comprised a large Westpac branch, and a vacant restaurant tenancy. The building had structural issues that required upgrade, and was in generally poor condition.
Argyle worked with Westpac to undertake a project that would see the building strengthened, cosmetically upgraded and Westpac’s branch fully refurbished, all whilst ensuring the bank remained open for business.
A key factor to the success of this project was identifying the unique ability to achieve a drive-thru lane around the perimeter of the site. McDonalds were then approached, and the Argyle and McDonalds development teams designed a restaurant to fit within the existing building.
The remaining retail spaces within the building were leased to Zambrero and McDonalds’ franchisee for a local training facility. The project was then sold on completion to a local investor. Argyle remain as property managers.
